Join NOVA Tribe and Moishe House Arlington for a Choose-Your-Own-Shabbat-Adventure at Great Country Farms in Bluemont, Virginia!

Great Country Farms is 400 acres of working farm situated at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains outside the village of Bluemont, VA.

We will check in at 11 am and break up into groups to explore the different activities. Stop at our designated picnic area throughout the day and enjoy heavy snacks and beverages for all to share, participants can bring their own picnic lunch. Limited snacks and food will be available at the farm and beverage tasting areas.


It's about an hour and fifteen minutes from Arlington to the farm. Carpools will be organized for those who don't have transportation, DEADLINE for carpools is Thursday, July 23rd COB . We'll head home around 2 or 3 pm, indivduals can leave earlier or later based on your carpool.


There's a lot to do on the farm, so prepare for a fun day!

Want to pick fruit in the fields? - Hop on one of the wagons and head out to the fields and harvest the season's finest. Other activities include catch and release fishing, field mazes, farm zoo, and putt putt golf.
Bluemont Vineyard - If you'd like to sample local wines, head on up to the tasting room with a beautiful view. http://bluemontvineyard.com
Dirt Farm Brewing - Just down the road from the farm, and newly opened this season, be one of the first to sample the Straw Golden Ale or Boots Off IPA. http://dirtfarmbrewing.com
Butterflies and Blackberries Festival - Learn about the Monarch Butterflies from experts during talks every hour on the half hour.
Shabbat Schmooze - Fun chats about Shabbat, nature, the shemita year, and farming in the Torah that participants can take part in throughout the day, schedule sent closer to event date

Cost: $12 for group rate admission to the farm and picnic snacks to share.

*Additional fees, paid at the event, if you choose U-Pick fruit, winery, or brewery activities or do not buy your admission ticket until the day of event at the farm.
